My Workshop

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! I thought with this post I would share a little bit about my wood working shop. I thought it would be fun to see where I make my signs, what I use to carve them and my tiny little wood working space.

We unfortunately do not have a garage, it is the one regret we have with our house, so we bought a shed. I share my wood working space with a riding lawn mower and random tools in a 12 by 12 shed. It's small, but my little cozy corner is all mine and my X Carve fits perfect on our old dinning room table.

I design all of my signs using Easel software by Inventables and then I'm able to hook my laptop to the X Carve in the shed to carve. I love that I make, draw and create designs at my craft space in the house and then go out to the workshop to carve. During the week while my granddaughter is having "quiet time" (or as quite as a 4 year old can get) I'm still able to work on my signs.

All of my bits and tools for the X Carve I keep in a drawer organizer. With having a small space I try to keep as organized as possible.

All of my signs are made from maple, birch or oak plywood. I buy my plywood in 2 by 4 sheets and cut them as I need them. My wood stash is small as I've only been buying what I need when I need it. I would love to find a lumber yard that sold a variety of different woods, but as of yet I haven't found one close by.

Well that's it! That is my cozy workshop! Do I dream of something bigger? At the moment no. I dream of having enough sales to buy a second X Carve!

                            Have a wonderful weekend!
                                    Happy Crafting!
