Hello November!

It's hard to believe October has come and gone! I hope everyone had a really great Halloween! All of my children are adults or about to be adults so the only trick-or-treaters we have are our grand children. Our grandson has discovered Harry Potter and went as Harry while our granddaughter went as a witch. It was fun years ago to take our kids trick-or-treating but it's also nice to see their children, give them candy and then relax the rest of the night!

For the last month or so I've been in the Christmas Spirit! The elves have been busy in the shop making Christmas Cards, Christmas Ornaments and a Winter Sign! I think I'm finished with the holidays (as far as creating) and I'm thinking about Valentine's Day and Spring! I know, I know it's too early for that, but a creator has to be prepared. In fact this is the first season I wasn't making something last minute. I decided I wouldn't burn myself out on Holiday Handiworks and save some for next year! But, if something sells out I'll be in the shop restocking! (which I would be super excited about)

One of the first handiworks I worked on in October was Embroidered Christmas Cards. I've made these cards the last two years for friends and family and I decided this year to add them to my shop. You can choose between a single card or a pack of 5. The single cards are ready to ship while the 5 pack are made to order.

I also made a few Christmas Ornaments last month as well. I love vintage ornaments, they remind me of when I was a kid. I wanted to make an ornament that had a vintage style, some sort of cross stitch or embroidery and made with my X Carve. I came up with these set of 3 vintage style Christmas Ornaments. I have a 3 sets that includes 2 green and a red, an all green set and an all red set. These are limited. I'm not sure if I'll restock these this year.

I designed and stitched a Let It Snow cross stitch pattern as one of the first patterns I created for my shop. Last year I remade this pattern into a kit and this year it's now a sign! I love the Let It Snow sign! This was so fun to carve and paint, I love the adorable snowman in his top hat and scarf! You can't have a snowy holiday without a snowman!

Lastly amongst all the Christmas stuff I did manage a Halloween sign. When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam may luck be yours on Halloween! This sign is so cool because after it's been left in the light, when it's dark, the pumpkin's eyes, nose and mouth glow in the dark! I used acrylic glow in the dark paint on the pumpkin's eyes, nose and mouth to make them gleam!

On Instagram I get a lot of questions about Oramask and how I use it. In October I did a blog post about my Oramask experience. You can read about it HERE. I'm planning to do an inside Milly Bean Handiworks post once a month. It might be a post about my process or something I use, whether it be for sign making or cross stitching or a post about a learning experience. I want to give you an inside look into my journey and creative process.

As you can see October was pretty busy for me. It's been wonderful being able to work on my small little business now that the grand kids are in school. I've gotten into a routine and I'm excited for the ideas I have to come. I hope everyone has a wonderful November, lots of fun holiday things to come!

Until next time keep crafting, creating and doing the things you love!
