What's new?

Hello!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. We had some lovely, warm sunny days, but this past week, it seems winter is back. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring and I'm excited to see flowers bloom and trees grow leaves!

I've been very busy in the workshop and released several new signs. I've been working with 3 new stain colors, worn navy, weathered gray and black cherry. I'm loving the black cherry. It has a purple-ish color to it and purple is my favorite color. The black cherry stain looks gorgeous with the white lettering on my new Livin' the Dream sign. 

I've also been working with a new type of paint for painting the lettering. I usually use acrylic paints but I just didn't like the way the paints coated over the wood, so I tried chalk paint. I've used 2 colors and I love it. The Milk Jug White and Vintage Victorian Pink look lovely with the weathered gray stain on my new Coffee Bar sign. I've used the chalk paint on my newest signs. I'm still using the acrylic if I can't find the right color I'm looking for in the chalk paint.

I'm also working on a new cross stitch pattern. My newest pattern is an idea I've had for a while now and I think I finally have it the way I want. I just began stitching it this week so check out Instagram and Facebook to see my progress. I hope to have it stitched within the next few weeks.

Lots of things have been keeping me busy here at Milly Bean Handiworks. I have a list of new sign ideas just wanting to be created. I also have 2 ideas for kitchen décor that I'm working out the final plans for. I'm excited for all the new things to come and I can't wait to share.
